Farley domes are anchored securely with a continuous foundation and aluminum profile around the perimeter. This design ensures a single, continuous stress point without the need for additional anchor points.

Air-Inflated Structures: In air-inflated structures, only certain components, like internal walls or panels, are inflated. The main structure itself is supported by a rigid frame. Air is pumped into these inflatable sections to maintain their shape, but the overall structure relies on solid supports, such as metal or fabric, for stability. 

Air-Supported Structures: In contrast, air-supported structures, like Farley domes, rely entirely on a slightly higher internal air pressure than the outside atmosphere to stay inflated. The entire structure is held up by air pressure, with no rigid framework. The air pressure inside is carefully regulated, and the structure is anchored around its perimeter to keep it stable. This creates a large, open interior space ideal for various uses, from sports facilities to event spaces.

Typically, you won’t notice any difference. The dome maintains a balanced internal pressure that equalizes with the external pressure as you enter, ensuring a seamless transition. This balance keeps the dome inflated while making the pressure difference virtually unnoticeable.
